A sympoetic experience of conviviality with plants / collective practice
workshop: Saturday, May 27, 2023, 11 a.m. to – 5 p.m., Devínska Nová Ves
Deadline for applications: May 25, 2023
How do we expand our perception beyond a reductionist view of ‘nature’? What does it mean to nurture a sense of place as relationally constituted? How do we recognize interspecies relations as meaningful without cutting ourselves off from them?
Ecologies of Attention strives to explore ways of listening and finding nearness to the more-than-human landscapes. It proposes to walk together the circles of ecological intimacy, extending into inner and outer lifescapes.
We invite you to join us for a day of collective practices expanding into radical attentiveness to sensuous information and relationalities as a process of mutual (un)learning and exchange of knowledge, where regenerative togetherness within multispecies communities may become possible.
We will start with an excursion to Devínska Nová Ves, followed by participating in the research-practice format in the woods and concluding by cooking & eating in Dodo Dobrík’s venue.
The event is free of charge; however if you would like to participate, please drop us a mail at ivana.tranzit@gmail.com until May the 25th, 2023.
The workshop will address the following topics: Reciprocity, Resonance, Borders, Anthropocene, Multispecies ….. The participants will explore how, by practicing a mindset of heightened attention, dignity and care, we can come to a qualitatively new relationship with nature – not submissive and dependent, or dominant, violent and careless, but a relationship based on mature humility, listening and reciprocity. The session promises to be an immersive experience, a collective practice as a learning format.
The workshop will include practices of: * embodied attention, * outdoor sensuous explorations, * getting to know local plants / foraging, * working with materials / thinking-through-making, * cooking and eating together, * converging the experiences gathered during the day.
