Languages of Care - Open Gathering
Friday, 13. 06. 2025, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Summer reading corner, Medical Garden
An event conducted in English, with elements of spontaneous Slovak-Polish translation
Languages of Care: Open Gathering is a participatory event created by the Polish working group Plenum of Care (POOS) exploring themes of caregiving and "care-based" art practices. We'll explore the theme of care, reflect on variations of the word, and play with its meanings across different forms from affective labor to maintenance and nurture. Artists, adults, children, art enthusiasts, and curious passersby are welcome to take part in a range of shared activities.
Join us for an afternoon outdoors to move, talk, and create together!
We'll be making fabric prints using our own handmade stencils.
Bring your own t-shirts or fabric tote bags—and go home with a personalized print!
For younger participants, we'll have illustrated stencils; for older ones—words and phrases evoking acts of care.
The movement part will be led by Anna Steller—a dancer, performer, and gardener.
The printmaking station will be prepared and guided by Ania Witkowska, visual artist, graphic designer, and co-founder of the upcycled fashion concept Szare Wrony.
You’ll also be supported by other members of the POOS: artist and poet Ada Adu Rączka, visual artist Dorota Walentynowicz, and curator/meme creator Wera Morawiec.
At the event, you’ll also find the POOS publication “you don’t see me” and Languages of Care postcards.
*Free entry – no registration required*
Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
All materials (stencils, paints) will be provided—but please bring your own item to print on (tote bag, t-shirt, piece of fabric, etc.).
