MASKING: Punk-intuitive mask making workshop with Kasha Potrohosh

We will delve into the process of creating masks with visual artist Kasha Potrohosh to make another/new face if we need to hide or, on the contrary, show our long-hidden self to the world.
The workshop will take place during the peak carnival season and will include a short presentation of carnival customs in Slovakia. And since feasting is an integral part of a proper carnival party, expect some refreshments!
We will create from stockings, so if you have sad, unwearable pantyhose lying around at home, bring them with you and give them a second chance. If not, don’t worry; we have our own supplies. The event is intended for the general public and no previous experience is necessary.
ACCESSIBILITY
The event will last for approximately 3 hours and will be held in Slovak. Admission and materials are free, but contributions are welcome.
Don’t be afraid to move around, use the facilities or get some fresh air.
There are no stairs in the building. The workshop space has a couch and folding chairs, and a gender-neutral bathroom.
The nearest tram stop is Úrad vlady SR (Slovak Government’s Office) and the nearest bus stop is Karpatská.

KASHA POTROHOSH is a Ukrainian multimedia artist based in Bratislava and in Ostrava in the Czech Republic.
She experiments with various artistic mediums, including painting, performance, and music. She often uses textiles as a means of camouflage and as a tool to challenge stereotypes, and works with various unconventional, natural materials, even using her own body as a canvas.
