tranzit.sk is an art institution based on projects. Its program is defined by a series of projects inscribed in a temporary structure with openings and ends. Facing the history of tranzit.sk that moved from here to there in Bratislava and changed its locations, the institution turns out to be an institutional project in itself – an institution inscribed in the logics of projects with a beginning and an end. In the horizon of projects it is predictable that tranzit.sk will have an end at its current site, that it will move further to somewhere else – maybe to a place that is more convenient for the art projects to come, maybe cheaper to run and maybe more appropriate for a local community to address. The project of the »Office of Cognitive Urbanism« (OCU) is reflecting the logics of projects and proposes the end of tranzit.sk at its current location on April 18th, 2015.
Please feel invited to send in your proposal for the next location of tranzit.sk in Bratislava. Please feel free to imagine the forms and needs of the arts to come, of the communities that it shall address. On April 18th, we will present your proposal and talk about the logics of projects and the hegemony of temporality.
